I will need to take it on location alot

    7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
    no

    8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
    3-4 hours

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
    Standard

    Widescreen
    d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
    e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
    doesn’t matter

i would suggest the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ160E/B 15.4" Notebook PC (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300, 2 GB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium) it is $1399 on sale at amazon. but if you want a warranty, i'd suggest buying from sonystyle.com

but w/ your two preferences, the reason the 630 is more expensive is because it has the better graphics card. and faster hard drive.

I would suggest the Dell D630 as well or if you can do with a WS Display the D830. The D830 is the best bang for the buck. I configured it with a T7300, XP Pro, 120GB HDD, 1 GB mem for under a $1000 and it comes with a 3 yr warranty. ;)
