Greetings all, if you wouldn't mind, I could use some advice. I placed an order for a I6000 on Monday, it came out to $1499 after tax and using a Dell EPP account. 1.6, dvd burner, 512 memory, 128 video card, better screen, blue tooth, 80 gig. 3 years warranty but no accidental.

I now see the Dell $750 off coupon, I configured a 9300 w/a tuner card, and essentially everything else the same, and it came to 1430, w/just a 1 year warranty.

Which would you guys get? The bigger screen and the basic warranty, or the opposite?

I don't travel all that often, so the weight is negligable for me. Also, there is no tax when you purchase through the regular Dell website? Thank you.

If you buy with American Express you don't need an extended warranty.

If you want a bigger screen and travelling/battery life are not an issue go for the 9300. Then again, if you don'w care about portability, why not get a desktop, then?

I’d call just to make sure, but I'm pretty sure that if you purchase the merchandise using an AmEx they'll extend the manufacturers warranty for one year.

Jimmy, nice name, same as mine [ :D] Anyway, depends on your needs. The 9300 will comes with a way better option graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce 6800, over the I6000's option, the ATI x300. If your a gamer, i would go with the I9300. I had a I9200 i returned to get a I9300, but i LOVED the 17inch widescreen display. I love widescreen displays anyway, but at 17inchs it was great! Portability will be an issue, not bad since the I9300 weighs only about 8lbs and still gets close to 3 hour battery life(based on a few posts on forums i have read if you are just doing nominal tasks) Its not great but if you are on the go a lot, go with the I6000.

    *Dell Inspiron 9300, P-M 1.86ghz 533mhz FSB, 1GB DDR2 533mhz ram, 17inch UXGA+ screen with TrueLife, 256mb Nvidia GeForce 6800, 60gb 7200rpm drive, XP Pro SP2, WiFi*

*Sony MDR-G74SL Headphones for music and gaming, best 40 dollar pair i have ever bought!*

Thanks guys. I won't be using an American Express so that doesn't help... but I'm thinking of getting the 9300 anyway. Does anyone know anything about the tuner it comes with? Are you better off getting one on your own? And does it support high def broadcasts? Thanks a heap.
