I'm looking to buying a laptop from Uk outlet ( online) but alot of them have very goodspecs but no ETH-0 cards.
Something like this :-
Is it easy enough to added a network card that would let me use it as wireless aswell?
And where could i get one from ( england stores please).
Thanks.

hows that possible........i think all modern laptops (except macbook air) comes with an ethernet port......maybe its just too trivial for dell to mention in the specs......just call a dell representative and ask for the detailed description........99% it will have the port

Wait what card do you need again? All dells come with a 10/100 LAN card (maybe even gigabit) and that one has built in Intel wireless?
-
hmm this is strange it says on the search that it doesn't have a network card which i thought (ETH-0 was? )
Like this one on the main screen the network bit is blank
*puzzled now*
Thanks.
Edit ok just found the service tag out by looking at the html source on that link
13GRF3J and going here
And this is what it said about the system :-

The 1710 definitely has a network card. I don't know of many laptops that don't (except for the extra thin macbook air). Take a look at the review on here and see what ports the machine has. There is a section of the review that shows pictures of all 4 sides and you will see the LAN card.
edit: look at this picture, there's the network controller labeled.

So am i right in thinking that if it has a lan card it will give you wireless aswell?
Thanks for the info and picture.. -
A LAN card is completely different from a wireless card.

Thank you for your time.
