How would i go about adding completecare to my current 2-year warranty? The laptop was purchased a little more than a year ago, and on the site it says you have to do it 30 days after purchase, but I've heard of people doing it much later. Is it possible?

I'd like an answer to this too. I recently (well, not TOO recent!) purchased an M1210 and I got CompleteCare with the intention of paying for one more year right before my first year expired. I thought that was totally possible.

Anyone want to clarify my pre-concieved expectations?

well there are two ways to do it: you can contact them by phone and the process was relatively painless for me, but i figured out (a little too late) that if you sign into dell, go to "my systmes and peripherals" and click on your contract type and click "view purchase options" you can add it from there. Im covered till next may, so hopefully theyll stop making the e1505 and ill be able to get an e1520 "if" my e1505 "accidentally" falls :)

lol he will have awhile to wait since the E1505 is still in production. When it is not longer in production it will still be on Dell Outlet for awhile. Its only when Dell no longer makes it, no moe units in Dell Outlet, Dell Canada has no more units either, that they give you a new machine. Estimated time from now...probably a year :)

Anyway its all nice when you break some stuff accidentally however I wouldnt do it intentionally. Its basically insurance fraud except they dont have as much of a chance of catching you if you do. Haggling with Dell for freebies is one thing breaking stuff intentionaly would be another.

If you do it (keyword if), then posting about it probably isnt the best idea. Legally incriminating and such.

You could just be careless with it. Go to any library, choose a nice, dark spot. Put your laptop on the desk, then carefully string the power cord about 5" off the ground across the hall. It's a waiting game from there.

**** happens. What is Dell gonna say, that you went online to some notebook forum, set a power cord booby trap - all so you could cash out on an accidental warranty?
