How Much Ram can I install in Inspiron 1520. BIOS Version A09? Running Ubuntu 10.04 64bit.

The Owners manual sites 4 GB RAM, but I think Dell was considering that the 1520 would be running Windows XP or Vista.

I have read 6 GB, 1 4gb and 1 2 GB. Does not make much sense. Not balanced. Dell.com laptop forums sited 8 GB. I know Linux will support at least 16GB RAM.

Please site your source of info.

4GB is the official limit, but most people seem to have gotten away with 6GB. I don't recall of any members who got 8GB to work in a 1520 or 1720.
