Hi - I posted to the buying recommendation forum yesterday and got no responses, so I thought I'd try here.

Fundamentally, I'm looking for a light, quiet, mobile replacement that might be able to run the occasional game of Civ4. Otherwise, this unit will be in my lap in the sofa or in my bed for reading and watching TED, ForaTV, etc., videos over Bluetooth headphones.

In theory, I'm replacing a Gateway Motion Computing 1200 tablet that I purchased from eBay 4 years ago. I beefed up the specs and was able to force it to run Win7. It still runs well for browsing, but does not handle online video well.

I have a C2D Shuttle-based desktop and an HTC HD2 smartphone, so I don't really NEED to buy a new laptop. However, I've been fond of the Adamo line since it first came out. I could never stomach the price tag - even with Dell employee discounts.

Dell Outlet now has the remaining Adamo 13 systems to an under $700 price point (S&D, lower config) or under $800 price point (S&D, 2.1Ghz, 4GB, 128SSD), when using a 15% coupon. Coupon expires 2/16.

Dell Small Business has been running a special on the Vostro v13's for a week or two now at $399.

For those of you with experience with these two units, would you buy or wait at these price points, and why?
Do you consider them to be directly comparable?
If I said I have an Intel 40GB SSD to throw into the Vostro to replace the shipping hard drive, would that make the recommendation easier?

Thanks - tearing my hair out at this end over the decision.

If you are fond of the Dell Adamo, I think you have answered your own question.
You are getting a 128gb SSD with the Adamo and 4GB of RAM. I believe it also has a backlit keyboard, which the V13 won't.
Also decide if you prefer a glossy (Adamo) screen or a matte (V13) one. The Adamo may also be a little heavier as a machine.
