    Hey you all...

I'm about to order a 1420 but I'm debating the screen type...I need some input regarding the lower res anti-glare screen vs. the higher res glossy screen. I've read about the graininess issue, and i was wondering if both screen types were affected. I'd appreciate any other comments as well.

    Thanks,
    Doc

Many people in this forum recommended anti glare screen. I don't recommend the glossy high resolution on 14.1 inch screen since it will make everything smaller and you have to zoom in. I found out this mistake when ordering one. If I order again, I'll go with the glossy low resolution since I don't use it outdoor a lot. I'll pay $70 more for 1-year in home service so if the screen is grainy or has any problem, they'll come to my home to replace it.

I have a 1420 with the anti-glare screen and recommend it 100%. My advice is to take a look at both offerings and find the one that suits you. Screen choice depends on personal preference. You will find that both types of screen have a following. Good Luck

I'm in the same boat as you. I am about to order a 1420 soon, but I'm debating on which screen is better.

I was certain I was going to buy the glossy high-res screen but after researching a bit, I might go with the standard 1280x800 matte screen. I like the matte screen, I'm just not sure about the detail/quality of the standard screens. I keep hearing the 1440x900 resolution for a 14" screen is way too small, I don't want to risk that either.
