About to Purchase i6000

I am happy to join this forum, hello to all....
I am about to buy a i6k from a ebay seller in USA with the following config. for about $1050 USD(with S&H). I was wondering if it is a Ok deal as these laptops are quite expensive in Canada. What is the rpm on 80 GB HD ?? I am not into games so the graphic card does not really matter much.

In addition to this query I would also like to have some feedback how does all the people feel about the machine in general, is it a satisfactory laptop !!!

not bad! especially since you canadians don't get the same price discounts as we do down here in the US.

I would say that the laptop you are buying is one of those 1,500-750$ coupon notebooks. So here its worth about 850. So the person selling that to you will be making a 200 dollar profit. So buying it off ebay in america would be very unwise, however I don't think you will be able to find the 6000 with that configuration for 1050 US dollars in canada.

Questions:
1. What will you have to pay for shipping costs?
2. Since this is an expensive import and since you have to claim it to the canadian government to be taxed, how much will tax cost you?

I think that even after adding all those together, you will still get a better deal then buying it off of Dell-Canada.

Also, here is a list of what was actually upgraded on that 6000 from the base model

Pentium M 730
8x CD/DVD RW
9-Cell Battery
WSXGA
80 GB HDD (probably 5400 RPM)

Everything else is just standard and comes with all 6000's.
