What is the difference between this:
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife [subtract $50]
And this:
15.4 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen WXGA+ Display with TrueLife [Included in Price]
As opposed to this:
15.4 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife [add $50 or $1/month1]
72% increase in viewable content compared to WXGA
Here is my current build, but I am over budget and was thinging about changing the screen to 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife to get back under 1000.00.

Well they stand for specific resolutions:
WXGA = 1280 x 800
WXGA+ = 1440 x 900
WSXGA+ = 1680 x 1050
The higher the resolution, the smaller the text will display on the screen. Personally, I like 1680 x 1050, for a lot of people though, this is a strain on the eyes. The best thing to do would be to go to a store and see the different resolutions in person and see which ones suits you. If you have a desktop you work on, and you run your resolution at 1024 x 768 and are comfortable with it, go with the WXGA screen. If you think it is too big, try the WSXG+. From reading, I think a lot of people find the WXGA+ as a happy medium. Other than that, it is tough to explain, best thing is to see the screen in person. If you have ever looked at laptops in a store, most of them are probably WXGA screens. Hope that helps a little, by the way, I got all the screen resolution numbering here:
Screen Resolutions
Looking at your build, you may want to consider that you can probably upgrade RAM on your own for a lot cheaper than Dell offers. It is really easy to do. Additionally, you may want to opt for a 7200 rpm HD. I am not sure what your intentions are with the computer though, so it is tough to say. Just my two cents. -
lmark is exactly right. If you're in doubt, I'd go with a WXGA or WXGA+ resolution as these are pretty standard and very comfortable for viewing to anyone.
