Is there any information on it, such at tech specs and release date? I've already seen a picture, and an article lied about the June 9 release.

The problem is with the release of the processor in it. Intel delayed the release of the Montevina processor. Dell had to delay the machines as a result.

I just went and found a few pictures.
They look really nice for an Inspiron!
I would say the reason that they are not released yet is because of the montevina delay.
I would expect them early July. You will be hard pressed to get any info or specs on them as dell is usually very tight lipped about new releases in order to not hurt current sales.
The model number suggests that the XPS m1730 might get a model name change soon.

It does seem to have been delayed by the Montevina delay, but mostly for the Intel wireless they will be using.

What advantage will Montevina give the new laptops?

Also, could anyone enlighten me on price range?

Only Ati 3650 or Gf 8600M GT in it? If you don't need the eSATA or the WIMAX, its essentially a 1530 with nice painting on the palmrest. Or the same as the 1520 in smaller package.

^^ ahh sweet. nope not 6000.. the pavilion refresh later this month, found here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=260597

i am trying to decide whether get an inspiron now or wait for the DV7t. and really the only inspiron i'd even consider are the current/past year's. the new one's don't seem to be much of a step up and they are design turn for the worse.
