    Hi,

I went to this Grisoft site and tried to download the free version of AVG, but they only list a trial version (free for 30 days):
    http://www.grisoft.com/doc/trial/lng/us/tpl/tpl01

I then found this other website and it has the "AVG Free for Windows installation files" which is free obvious.

Is there is any difference between the two? If AVG has a free version then why isn't it listed on Grisoft website?

    Thanks, guys.

But my question is, the trial version on Grisoft site, is it only free for 30 days? Why doesn't Grisoft list the real free version on their website which can be legally downloaded from other sites instead?

Well, they want their customers 'buy' the paid version rather than settle for the free version. So they only list the paid versions as many people would just download the free version if it was easily accessible.

The above free version is still on Grisoft's website/servers, they just dont advertise it on their main home page. But rather keep it in the background and hope that those who are capable of finding it will find it and some might just pay for it.(you know companies do need to make a profit to survive ;) )
