I recently purchased a refurbished D620 from Dell Outlet and was looking at the technical details of my "new" notebook. I've discovered that the WXGA+ screen is made by AU Optronics. I believe it to be Acer-Unipac, but I've never heard much about them.

Has anyone with a D620 have the AU Optronics panel?

I know most of the posts I've seen here have stated that the Samsung panel is preferred, but I'd like to know if the AU panel is something I should be worried about.

I have an Au OPtronics 15.4 inch wxga glossy screen on my e1505...it seems to be pretty bright with an acceptable amount of leakage..I am impressed with the viewing angles it boasts. I'm not sure how they make smaller screens but I have had a positive experience.

    Hope this helps.

I have the AUO panel. After 2 weeks, ive finally adjusted the lcd settings enough for it to look decent, but viewing angle is still horrible. It still irks me that theres something better out there (samsung). Does anyone know how i can exchange it for the samsung without too much trouble?
