    my brothers i6000 died and i was woundering if the intel x3100 is better than the ati x300.

    They are similar: Numbers 77 and 83 in the Notebookcheck mobile GPU table. Both are much better than what was in the i6000 and are fine for 2D graphics but neither is built for 3D gaming.
