Okay I just want to capture everyone's operating GPU temps who have the ATI 4570 GPU. It does not matter what laptop as I want to see whare are typical ranges. If you have the 5470 then you can post that too.
I wish ATI would I am cocnerned that it may fail soon. Had to go through the Nvdia 8400M GS failure not too long ago.
Studio 1558
ATI 4570
Plugged in (not on battery)
Room temp ~23C
Idling temp 47C
Normal operation 50-55C (I think used to be 47-50C a few months back)
Watching HD video through a video player 66-73C
Watching normal video through a video player 63-68C
If I play Starcraft II temps go as high as 86C (range is 82-86C)
I have 11.2 driver from ATI that was released mid Feb 2011.
Normal operation is surfing or doing normal tasks but not watching any type of video

i've had mine for over a yr now n peak temp while playing games is close to 100!
It reaches 92 degrees just while playing super meat boy hehe -

While Vuze is downloading a file and watching a HD (720p) Video for 5 minutes.
Its seems to just jump to those temps and remain there +/- 2 degrees Celsius -

It works for the 1558 as well -
mine are high. idle around 55, while gaming over 90. this card is getting outdated, the integrated intel hd 3000 performs better then this crap..
