Ok, Dell said it would take 4-6 weeks to ship to my APO address. My shipping is marked as "overnight" as well.

What I'm wondering is if they can change it to "USPS priority" delivery? I have all my other packages sent that way so it avoids the boat and arrives here in around a week instead of 4-6 weeks.

Has anyone tried this or knows about this?

Greetings Treb - I assume you're going thru Dell's AAFES site. I use the CONUS buyers section there - then have them ship to my shipitapo address in PA. That way I don't have the mandatory/expensive three-year warranty to put up with. ShipItAPO generally adds $20-$25 to the overall cost for handling, shipping and insurance. Much better insurance than USPS by he way...

Well, after some research, Dell DOES ship via USPS, since they're the only ones who ship to APO address. They also ship it registered mail rather than Priority because it's a "high value item" and that method will cover the loss. I bought mine through calling dell through the Air Force line rather than AAFES since they happen to rip everyone off a lot. My laptop actually ran close to $1000 cheaper than AAFES.

What I still want to know is if Dell can ship registered priority and avoid that boat trip and cut 5 weeks off it...anyone?

Well that's news to me, I've never seen it listed anywhere as an option...

It's not selectable as an option. As a matter of fact, you can't order through the website normally, you have to either go through AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Service), through one of dells Federal links, or call them up and it becomes default to go through USPS, you have no choice.

You can back this up by doing a few quick searches.
