Hey everyone, I have posted about 5 of these versus topics the last few days, but I'm just wanting people to compare things for me, cuz I always like to get the most bang for my buck.

I obviously know that intel is better, but which one of these would you take?

    AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 (1MB/2.0GHz)

    or

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5450 (1.66GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache)

    or

    AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 (1MB/1.8GHz)

Actually, if you would just rank them 1 through 3.

Also, I've asked this a lot too, but will the integrated video card be good enough for me to be able to play slower gameplay games, such as Tiger
    Woods PGA Tour?

One day you might need to replace that video card if you own your laptop long enough and dont have parts under warrenty. The integrated is good and such, but its sodderd in, so if it goes, well then, hope to hell that you have a warrenty. If a non-integrated goes, well then you will just be a bit pissed off. I would personaly go with the 128mb, not only is it better than integrated, its changeable in the future too. My 2cents on video cards. Processors, I would have no idea. Ive just gone with what has the largest specs for intel for the price.

The X3100 is fine for really light gaming. Its a lot better than the previous generations of Intel integrated video.

The integrated video card dying is about as likely to happen as the CPU or chipset dying. I would not worry about that. Even if you had a GeForce 8400 or 8600 die, its not exactly a common replacement part...

Thanks for the replies guys. So even the cheaper intel's are better than the better AMD's? Seems like what everyone is saying, but I am just curious for opinions from experts and users.

The integrated card will handle low-spec games for a year or two, but anything new after that will probably become painful. Oh, and absolutely do not worry about an integrated card dying... I have never even seen that happen.

Yah, I've never really owned one of the integrated for laptops, but I figured if they were anything like reg PCI graphics cards for desktops, ive had a couple fail in lightning storms or as I would rather think of it, ultimate over clocking... that term sounds more cool than not having your computer plugged into a surge protector.

I would opt for Intel. I'm not sure why, however...I guess it's just the BIGGER brand name...I'm sure AMD works fine, too.

TL-60= T5450 (at least in terms of Vista score)

I have a TL-60 and a T5470, they got the same Vista CPU score. I didn't care enough to do any other benchmarks.

the intel chip is very likely to have much better power efficiency however. the santa rosa platform has a lot of features that are simply not there on the amd notebook platform.

no difference in battery life between my TL-60 equiped Inspiron 1501(15.4 incher) and my T5470 equiped Vostro 1400. Both have a 9-cell
    Sure there are some differences
15.4 inch monitor uses more power than a 14 inch
8400M GS uses more power than a Xpress 1150(integrated)

but in the end, they seems to have very similar battery life.

OK, here's another question for everyone, but please by all means keep the opinions coming.

Is the worst intel... the T5250 or whatever it is, better than the top AMD?

for performance, no. for power per watt, any core 2 duo on a santa rosa is better than what amd has right now.

OK, I don't really understand the differences. What do I want to be better? performance or power per watt?

LOL, I don't know what you want to be better, but if you want better battery life, go with Intel. Also, the integrated graphics (x3100) will get you better battery life, but if you want to play games, you'll probably want the dedicated graphics card.

thanks for all the info.... Keep the opinions coming if you haven't already chimed in.

    here's an off topic question....

Will I get a better deal trying to order over the phone?
