If possible, take off that part of the case. Not sure of how the build is on the studio 15 if it has a detachable top and bottom, or you have to go through the bottom to the top. My acer I could disassemble it from both the top of the keyboard or bottom. Try looking at Dell's site for a teardown manual.

That blows. On the Studio17 I can't power up/down w/lid closed even if the pushbutton is lit but I suppose its designed this way...

If you can't manage to 'pop' the pushbutton back out, you are looking at some serious disassembly to get at this button...

You could also try to push and hold the button for several seconds while you remove then reattach the power adapter...

Pressing the Media Center on the center control panel should also boot-up the Studio...

may as well send the laptop to Dell for repairs, including the stuck power button. I'm not comfortable disassembling the studio 15 laptop unless you have very skilled hands to do it yourself.

I have the same issue on my Studio 17. At first, my laptop would shut down within 5 seconds of powering it on, so I thought something was shorting out the power. After going over it with dell tech support two or three times, they recommended I reformat and reinstall. Luckily, before I did that, I took a closer look at the power button, and it turns out if I press too hard on it, the power button kind of tilts inward at a small angle and get stuck, but I can fix it if I press down on the part of the button that didn't tilt inward. Since the button was stuck, the computer registered it as though I was holding down the button whenever I turned it on, making it shut down as soon as it starts up. Right now, I'm just lightly tapping on the power button to avoid making the button stick inwards.

How should the power button feel when I press it? Is it supposed to feel like the Wifi catcher button on the opposite side, or is it supposed to be able to depress significantly, like a couple of millimetres?
