Is there any way to control the ACPI on Dell Studio notebooks?
I've always been using HP notebooks and about to order my first Dell.
For my current HP I've been using NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) which allowed me to play with the ACPI settings and thus lowering my CPU voltages and fan speeds, which after trial and error resulted in a steady, MUCH MUCH more silent performing notebook.
I've been searching a bit on the NHC forums but can't find any Dell files for NHC so I'm wondering if there's maybe another software tool that allows me to tweak Dell notebooks.

for me the loudness of the fan is also very annoying. I tried i8kfan at this link

You can get the fan quieter with automatic temp control but the mouse is not working anymore then. I'm still searching to get this d... maschine quieter -
I'm going to try to create an ACPI file for NHC, but I can use all the help I can get as I've never done this before.
Have a look here for files and a manual:
