    Hi,
I am installing clean and have a question.

I downloaded the ACHI driver but can't get it expanded. When I try to expand it on my XP desktop, it won't let me because the OS isn't supported. When I tried it on my friend's laptop, it just installed the driver but wouldn't give me the option to expand it to USB. So a: how do I do this and B: is this going to F up my buddie's Lenovo?
    Thanks,
    G

No.. you just double click on the excutable, and it extracts the files. You are not "expanding" it if I think I know what your talking about. Just double click on it, and click the appropriate button and it will extract the drivers to a folder. Copy that folder to your USB.

If it doesnt work on that computer, try doing it on a different one. Even if it does not extract to USB, just copy the folder over to USB from the C: drive wherever you extracted it.

you can expand the driver without installing by going through the command prompt via run --> cmd and typing

    driverfile.exe -a -a -p g:\
where g is your usb drive
I think that should work. not sure though
