    Hello,

I'm posting again with another question about my new foray into the world of laptops! You guys have been a great help so far, mayber you can help me out with this:

I've got a Dell Latitude D600. I want to use the ac adapter in the UK/Ireland. Obviously the plug head isn't the right kind but what about the voltage? The adapter seems to say that it could handle 110v (US) - 240v (UK). So is it just a matter of changing the plug head?

When you disconnect the ac adapter into two pieces do I just need to get a new "second-half" i.e. the part that goes from the wall into the "ac-box" part. The D600 seems to have a weird connector of three prongs that go into the "ac-box". (I'd only ever seen two before.) If that's all I need to change any ideas on where to get one? I'm having trouble searching for one because I don't know what to call them exactly?

Maybe I'll have to get a whole new ac adapter or even a transformer?

    Thanks for your help

The standard power supply is fine in the UK/Ireland.

Three pin cables like Dell now use are reasonably common, but its probably easier to buy a plug adapter than the replacement section of cable.

Depending how long you intend to stay, you could just buy a plug over here and swap the heads over.
