I have broken my inspiron but the cpu is still working. I already had a problem with limitation of ram in my inspiron(8gb) since I need 16 gb. Is there any way to use my core i 7 2670QM on a motherboard that supports 16 gb of ram? As far as I know, I can not use a PC desktop motherboard, so somehow I need to buy a new motherboard and the other parts as well. Any ideas to use this cpu with 16 gb of ram?

    Thank you!

I do have a couple solutions. However, you get much better returns by selling them off.

They do sell Desktop Motherboards that allow you to fit Mobile CPU and Ram.
However, they are very costly and hard to acquire since they are designed for small form factor, long term support (10yrs+) and low volume sale in mind.
    Typically starting at $200 US

You should look for QM7x and QM6x based chipsets.

    Here is an example

Jetway NC9B-HM67 Core i Mobile Mini-ITX Motherboard | Sandy Bridge | Logic Supply

Alternatively, buy used / old laptops that have that chipset.

That sounds good. Should i change/buy other parts like HDD, ram , graphic, power supply etc as well if I wanna go for this solution or I can reuse my old laptop parts?
Another question: How much do u think I can get for a 2670, 2x4gb laptop ram and a 500gb laptop HDD ? If worse it and I can sell them all, I prefer to build a new pc. Where can I sell these stuffs in europe?

If you kept going with this solution, the old stuff like the cpu, the ram and the HDD can be used.
You might have a choice to add in a normal desktop video card ... Some do have PCIE x16 slot for it.

As for power, really depends on what kind of motherboard you get. (Pay attention to the specs for it).
Some can take only ATX power ... Some only take 12V DC ... Some can do both ... Some can take wide DC Ranges 12V-28V.

As for how much you can sell it, no idea :)
Most likely less than how much it cost to build it.
