Ordered my Blue 1520 on July 18th but finally had enough of the waiting and canceled the order. Made a new order with the Black color instead, and the rep also gave me a free upgrade from the 8400M GS video card to the 8600m GT, and a free upgrade from the 80gig HDD to the 120 HDD.

    Here are my Old specs:

    Inspiron 1520 1.66GHz, T5450
    Glossy 1280 x 800 LCD
    Midnight Blue
    2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
    1286MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    80G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Total with taxes = $1456.92 (CAN)
    Ordered: 7/17/07
    Build Stage 7/19/07
    ESD #1 – 8/6/07
    ESD #2 – 8/15/07
    ESD #3 – 8/28/07
    Canceled on 8/14/07

    And now the new! :

    Inspiron 1520 1.66GHz, T5450
    Glossy 1280 x 800 LCD
    Black
    2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT – free of charge!
120G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive – free of charge!
Total with taxes = $1456.92 – same price!
    Ordered: 8/14/07
    Build Stage 8/15/07
    ESD #1 – 8/30/07

I’d recommend ordering laptops through the Dell reps, rather than online (first order was placed online). The rep happily threw these free upgrades at me for some reason…I hadn’t even told her I was canceling my original Midnight Blue order! Let’s just see if this new laptop ships on time... :)
