Well Hello, i read the my xps 1530 9 cell battery would last for about 300 cycles now considring that i use it every day that means that it will last less then a year?
and also i wonder about using my laptop without battery, i mean only with the AC plugged in and the battery not connected.
i do this while in home will it damage the battery if i dont use it every day or even every 2-3 days, i mean i dont charge and looks like it discharges by it's own.

use RMClock to check the exact capacity of your battery
u can charge battery to 40% and remove it if ur not going to be mobile for a long time and use AC instead
personally, 2-3 days, i wont take it out -
Once the battery has a full charge it goes in "idle" mode and the laptop wont use it as the power source.

Yeah. Also, on some laptops (like my MBP), the processor wont run at full speed with the battery removed.
Otherwise, I think you'll be fine, in many cases the 300 cycle/1 year mark just shows when the battery has degraded to 80% health. In other words, after 300 cycles it will only hold 80% of the original charge. That would be pretty normal and to be expected over time. -
There's a button on the battery itself to see how much charge is left. There's also an internal chip to stop charging when it reaches it's capacity. Yes you can take off the battery and use AC instead but I like mine on in case of a power failure. I do however disconnect the AC when the batteries is charged.

Yeah the 300 charge thing is usually means that the battery at that point holds 80% of its original capacity.

I want to get this stright, and i am asking because i want to get out of my battery all the time that it can give, when i am AC plugged and the battery is 100 charged, the AC stops charging it and doesnt use it? i am just want to get this battery to work 2 years at least.
RM shows me
Desgined capacity 86580MWH and full charged capasity 84227mWh -
You'll be surprised how long a battery lasts. I have an HP with a 3 year old battery and it's still going strong. It depends on how often you charge/discharge in actual useage. Yes the battery stops charging or trickle charge when it's fully charged. Batteries nowadays are well built and lasts for a long time. Batteries are not cheap but they are affordable.

Yeah, I have an Inspiron with a 4 year old battery so far and its still going strong.
