Currently I own an Inspiron 9100 and am looking to upgrade it for college. Besides adding another 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM to my already existing 512 MB would it be worth it to upgrade the hard drive from 60 GB to 80 GB? Thanks!

Worth it? Depends...do you need more space? If you want more speed it would be better to find a faster hard drive if your laptop can handle that.

You'll get more of a performance boost from a 7200RPM hard drive than adding another stick of memory. Hitachi is the only one who makes them at the moment. They come in 40 and 60GB versions. Throw the old in a external usb case for extra storage. One of the best upgrades you can make on a laptop. Good Luck.
