Has anyone else encountered problems when playing mp3's on this system?

When I play an mp3 file it sounds skippy, like I ripped it from a damaged disc, however music that I digitally put on via USB drive also has the same problem. Infequently a song will play without the distortions. I have also noticed that when using MediaDirect the problem never occurs. I have reinstalled WMP 10, upgraded to WMP 11 and tried Quinessential Player, all share the same problem... it doesn't disturb me so much when I'm not focused on enjoying the music, but it has disgusted me to the point of contemplating returning the unit and possibly buying a different brand. I hate to see the work I put into this thing go to waste this is my first expensive laptop, and I plan on using it for college for at least two years... Any replies earn my grattitude... sorry for any spelling errors.

My E6400 plays fine, even with my mp3 files stored on my desktop and when I use the laptop to access those files on my wireless network. Try foobar2000.
