so i wanted to buy my first gaming laptop but i don't know much about them.I am thinking of dell inspiron 7567 with its lowest configuration. I was wondering if it would be a good choice and what is it capable of. Would be grateful for any knowledge.

Looks to be an ok first device. You may not be able to play every game at max resolution etc. but should be able to do ok. For the money it looks good. You can upgrade the ram later if you want. and that is a cheap upgrade compared to buying it with the machine.

No problem....Anything else you want to know...fire away. I am looking at getting the same notebook to try gaming on FYI. If I like it more than using xbox/ps I will probably goto a fully optioned alienware, but until then.....This should fit the bill!

You can get $100 off if you purchase it from Bestbuy as a student.

actually i read about it having a TN panel. I was wondering about how much of an effect it would have on the display.

Depends. My inpsiron 13 5000 panel is supposedly the worst of the worst, however I think its fine. That one is a big personal choice. I cannot comment on lcd. I love glossy screen while most detest them.

I would not read into specs toooooo much. Any dell, give it a shot. I have yet to see a bad one in the past few years. Been really enjoying our two devices.

Ahh, If you can... buy directly from Dell and ask about coupons/studentsdeals/anything. Dell is usually good at giving discount.

I found with dell canada the model I wanted went on sale every few weeks though it would also disappear from the site altogether every few weeks and it would also be sold at full price for a bit too

Ahhhhh. that would explain it. Go ask the retailers in your area the price and if they can do any better...shop around.

Edit: Also I was wondering is anything I should check for or watch out for and, if any ,maintenance should be done after this. Would appreciate it if you could tell me.

I don't think so. Sounds like a great system. You can always add SSD, and Ram down the road...if you want storage space and a little more speed a firecuda SSHD is a killer drive. I have one and 16gb of ram in my 13 5000, and it made a very noticeable difference!

I found disabling non-required programs in startup helped

Cool. Yeah, there is a lot of stuff that does not need to be running at startup. BTW....Remember to disable any new programs you load as well.

I found great deals at Dell outlet, read some forums computers usually come in great conditions, plus you can get a good spec for an insane price, I found the 7577 with i5 and 1050 for 700 usd tax included using a coupon code, also check regularly slickdeals, I believe anything better than an U processor and a mx150 or 960m is already give you a good time playing games, not on ultra or high but highly playable
