    Ok so 3 in the morning over here and I'm stressing out about all this bad talk of orders being delayed for months and months so I call Dell only to be bored by waiting and then go to the online chat with the customer service and this is what I got...

    I was pretty nice this time, considering I haven't even thought about giving it until monday, you guys all freaked me out. Anyways, I don't know about you guys but that's given me just enough hope to get me to sleep tonight and get me to monday, I pray that this lady...errr man...whatever is right and I sign for a big package from Dell monday morning, if not, watch out Sachin...waaaaatch out... :rolleyes:

    A couple things:
    You should probably remove your name from that convo and replace it with something else.

    Also, they said the same thing to me before August 16th and I have a very similar system I ordered on 7/20. They are known to say that to end the conversation.

    ... I have had several dell chats that were very similar to this... 3 actually as each of my 3 ship dates approached... yet and still I have no laptop... hope ur luck is better than mine :'(

    I orderd mine on 7/23..we have pretty close to the same specs except Processor and Color..and i just hit boxing 2 days ago...took 38 days..still haven't gotten the notebook

    I hear the greens are getting delayed about as much...

    im just giving you an "honest" assesement...i posted an article in this forum about Dell notebook Delays could extend into November...i suggst you look it up and read it

    Reps have lied to me on a few occassions

    here is how mine ESD have been

    7/23 order

    EDD = Estimated Delivery Date
    1st EDD 8/4(delayed)
    2nd EDD 8/14(Delayed)
    3rd EDD 8/28(Delayed)
    4th EDD 9/6(waiting for it to be delayed)

    even though i have been in boxing for 2 days...i will consider myself "blessed" if i receive the notebook bye tuesday or Wednesday of next week..that would make the total wait time...44 days

    From order to getting here..i will be lucky if it arrives in 44 days

    you have the Same Screen as me..the 1440 x 900 has "huge delays" that is probably delaying your order(like mine) more than anything else.

    just hang in...if you can afford to wait..you will get it...it will just probably be awhile...im just being upfront and "honest" with you where as Dell will not...i hope you get it sooner than that, but i wouldn't bet on it

    Ordered on July 10.
    Delayed multiple times.
    Had a chat like this on Aug 29, laptop supposed to ship on Aug 30.
    I have just been delayed to
    September 27.
    No hope here...

    In this subforum, I like threads that start with "Good news..." or "A little hope.." even if they offer false hope.... they still make you feel good for a few seconds.. I really do hope your system gets shipped on time though.

    and in the spirit of personal pics as avatars...here we go .. lets see if this will affect our shipping-luck...

    I've had Sachin for a CSR rep before. He's actually one of the better ones. He expidited my order for me, and I received it 5 days after he did this.

    Btw, I wouldn't get your hopes up. I'd expect the worst, knowing Dell. The truth is, it's Friday now and it hasn't gone into boxing yet. Boxing for me took 4 days. I highly doubt your notebook will ship Monday. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, I just know how much it sucks to have a CSR give you false hope.

    Oh back on topic, is it possible that the laptop could be in boxing yet the order status won't update until it is shipped and on it's way to me? Just a suggestion...I don't know, I'm still trying to be a wishful thinker...

    Dell Canada's 'In Production' stage includes everything from Kitting, Building, Testing, and Boxing. The next stage is Delivery Prep, which usually takes far less than a day and it's on to shipping from there. So, there's very little time between the end of In Production and actually shipping.

    I especially liked this line from your conversation:

    Wow, he's positive it might ship? That's confidence for ya. ;)

    Haha hey it gave me just enough confidence yesterday to stop worrying and go to bed so that's good enough for now.
    How does everyone know when their product goes into boxing then? I just have the damn 5 stages that are doing me no good...

    Those would be the Americans. Their order status system has many more discrete steps than ours.

    Well I'm on the phone with Dell customer care, see if I can get more insight on where my lovely laptop is...and if not, let the b!tc*hing begin...


    ...they really need to start allowing curse words in this forum, ESPECIALLY this forum considering it deals with a bunch of angry Dell customers.
