I have an Inspiron 6000 that has decided NOT to see/recognize when a SD card is inserted in to the SD slot.

How do I get the computer to see this card so I can get the photos from it?

    Thanks!

it should just come up as a drive, in your "my computer" section.....if it does not there might be a hardware issue so check your device manager for any yellow !(exclamation) points

if the exclamation is there, then its usually a driver issue.....if the drive still isnt working and there are no exclamation points, then it might be drive failure

What capacity is the memory card. Some High Capacity SD card's cant be recognised by certain card readers.. i've found it myself with a couple of cards.

Agreed. I have a SDHC that did not work in my PCMCIA reader and needed a (USB) reader of it's own.

Thanks for your replies. It's only a 512 Mb card so it's not that big. I did see an exclamation mark in the device manager so it appears to be a driver issue. I'm googling around to see if I can find the driver...any recommendations? I went to Dell and using the service tag looked up the drivers but I don't see the one for the SD slot.
