Guys, i wanted to see if anyone knows if the multimedia pad issues, (the touch panal on studio dell, 15. I found a temp fix which requires you to take out the battery, hold the power button 4 5seconds, then turn it back on.
    Anyone find a temperary fix.

Another question is I havent stayed up to date on the studio 1555's,
Iam curious to see the common problems with this laptop.

    1. Is the graphic card good? (whats the 3dmark06 score)
    2. Is there any touch panal (multimedia buttons) problems.
    3. Does the speakers have bass unlike the crappy speakers in the studio 15;s

Also, anybody expierence a problem when sometimes you type the button "m" or any key it closes the program or puts the dam computer in standby. It gets annoying.

Thanks guys and I'm sorry for asking all these questions, i just dont want to make alot of threads.

    NBR MEMBER,

    Mike

Dell actually released new firmware for the Studio 1535/1536/1537 media panel which fixes the freezing upon boot. That workaround with the battery and power button is no longer needed.
The Studio 1555 does not have touch-sensitive media buttons. Instead, they are now part of the F1-F12 keys.
The Studio 1555 speakers include a dedicated subwoofer, and the overall sound quality is better than that of of the 1535-1537 models.

I was not talking about the A09 BIOS, but rather a firmware update that only affects the media panel:

It's an ISO image, so burn it to a blank CD or DVD with a free tool like Imgburn. Put the disk in your laptop and boot from it (reboot, hit F12, select to boot from DVD), and it will update automatically. Once it's done, turn the laptop off, remove the battery and unplug the power. After a few seconds, put it all back in, and your eject button should never freeze again.
