I've pretty much decided on the m1330 with an LED display (over the m1550 or Macbook Pro). I just have a few questions so I'll be ready to order.

    1. I'd like to get a Penryn processor. Is the T8300 a Penryn?

    2. Which wireless card do you guys suggest?:

    a) Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini Card [subtract $25]
    b) Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card [add $10]
    c) Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card [Included in Price]

    3. If given a choice, which hard drive would you suggest? (not sure if the EPP site gives a choice, but just in case).

    4. I see an option for a "Built-in Wireless USB capability plus Belkin 4-port hub." What is that? (I doubt I'd wanna buy a $150 option, but I'm curious. :))

Lastly, any other options or suggestions you guys think I should consider?

    Thanks!

    1. Yes
    2. Intel Wireless - N
    3. 200GB 7200RPM, or, if you feel comfortable upgrading parts yourself, get the cheapest hard drive and then buy the 200GB separately and install it yourself. You can do that for the same price, if not lower, than what Dell charges you to upgrade to the 200GB.
    4. It's exactly what it says it is, wireless USB. You hook up USB gadgets to the Belkin hub, and it transmits their data wirelessly to your computer.

If money is not an option, then go for the T9300 processor, its faster and has more cache

    1. Yes

    2. the n standard is still in its draft state and doesnt have much applications as of now. the real n versions are yet to come out. so i think going after a draft n wireless would be uneconomical. all your needs will be fullfilled by the standard card

    3. 160GB, 7200RPM, your computer is as fast as its slowest component i.e the hdd in normal usage. so the 72k will make a difference

    4. waste of money if u ask me

Will the Wireless-N card also work on "g"? If so, it might make sense to get one now. If not, I wouldn't want it since my router is 802.11g.

By the way, it looks like the EPP configuration will not allow me a choice of hard drives (except for the 64GB Solid State Drive). Bummer.

+1 for the Intel wireless N. And the wireless USB is definitely not worth it yet. I don't know of any equipment that uses this yet and for $150? Yikes!
