So I was minding my own business, watching a video on Youtube. I leave my computer on the table and go eat some lunch. When I get back, the screen is black, but the power button is still lit up. After several attempts to get it to display something (ESC, Ctrl+Alt+Delete, etc), I give up and turn it off. However, it won't start back up again. I've left the button pressed for over a minute, taken out and cleaned the battery, but nothing happens, It should be noted that my computer was plugged in at the time, and has been since, but it is still acting as if it has not a drop of power left. Any ideas on why/how this happened, and how to fix it?

Try a Power Reset and see if it helps.
1. Turn off the Laptop.
2. Remove everything that's connected to your Laptop such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
3. Unplug the AC adapter from the Laptop.
4. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
5. Press and hold down the Power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
6. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the Laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
7. Press the Power button to turn on the Laptop.
8. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally , and then press the Enter key.
If this does not work, try connect your Laptop to an external monitor to find out whether it's a video card, inverter or LCD issue.
