First of all, are you able to get to the processors in these notebooks so they can be upgraded?

Although I really would like the Duo, I just cant afford it right now. However if you are stuck with the processor you get, then I guess I'll just hold off for now. Someone said the Solo is the duo with one core turned off.... Thats really annoying. Its like a car dealer saying "Ill disable 4 of the cylinders in this V8 and give you a 10% discount."

The other thing I was wondering about... is why did the prices of the used 9300s go up after they stopped making them? I think thats crazy. Its not like these things are collectable and go up in value over time...

If you get the solo core, you should be able to upgrade to dual pretty easy. Personally, it doesn't make sense to go that route. If you can wait and save some money, then buy a dual system. You'll just be wasting money if you go with solo then update to dual later.

If you get the 9300, you won't be able to upgrade to the dual or solo core. My guess as to why it is costing more is because of the simple fact that they discontinued it. Consumers that don't want the dual core, will want to go with the 9300.
