I am looking at getting a D820 in the next month or so. I have a couple more questions.

    1. WSXGA vs WUXGA. My wife has a i6000d with WUXGA and I love the screen res. I am interested in WUXGA because it would be convenient for web developing (Dreamweaver and say web browser side by side). I am concerned mainly about the size of text. It is already getting a little small on my wife's 6000. Is it easy to make the text bigger without it looking like **** or will it be only slightly smaller.

    2. I am definitely going to get a 7200rpm drive and will upgrade the RAM to a gig(probably not thru dell), but should I go higher than 1.66 for the processor?

I will be doing the obvious surfing and email, and will work with the macromedia family of products(Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash) maybe some photoshop, and then light gaming (World of Warcraft). Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

BTW, this forum is a great resource. I am addicted.

    1. Increase the DPI.

    2. Do the hard drive and memory first as you'll get more bang there.

I find it strange if you dont buy more ram at once? At least you should get a 1GB ddr2 sdram chip. Because then, later on, you could buy 1GB more, and have 2GB :)... 512 MB isnt enough for anything, trust me. And if you really getting into 3d-Work and animations you should at least have 1GB. Though 2GB sounds even nicer :)..

But if you start with 512MB's of RAM then git rid of that stick and for around $150 get 2GB's (2x1GB) 667mhz DDR2. But if you just want 1GB and don't care about the speed (Regular DDR2) then for around $40 or less you can buy another 512MB stick. Dell usually charges 2-3+ times what you can get RAM for aftermarket. Newegg and Zipzoomfly are always great places to look at. You might also want to consider upgrading the HD aftermarket. How much does it cost you to upgrade to a 7200RPM HD?

To go from 40gb 5400 rpm to 60gb 7200rpm is $79, or from 60 gb 5400 to 60gb 7200 us $50. But RAM is cheaper thru aftermarket, which I will upgrade immediately.
