Greetings from Puerto Vallarta
I've bought systems from Dell Outlet in the past and had good luck. In the past few days I was trying to buy a 1555.
Three times I found nice systems for good price, ordered them for shipment to some inlaws in El Paso Texas. Three times I got cancelled. I called my credit card, they said they authorized the purchase. It 's a US credit card with my US billing address. I called Dell a zillion times trying to find out why and never did reach anyone in their credit department. Finally gave up and ordered one from BestBuy in El Paso. It's just a basic model but beats Dell's fastrack deal by $200 (Dell includes MS Office)
I think Dell USA figured out I was in Mexico and cancelled me thinking I will reexport to Mexico. How stupid for one measly laptop, I could see it if I was ordering 50 or something. Thing is, anyone can bring a one laptop into Mexico as a tourist or if they live here. I wanted one from Dell USA as they are cheaper and have Windows in english.
Also don't understand why they don't put backlit keyboard in every Studio laptop, its a $25 option. If you search on Outlet this option is hardest to find and they get snatched up fast. My last cancelled deal was a 1555 with Windows 7, FHD display, bluetooth, backlit keyboard, and 9 cell battery for $689
Anyway, great forum, glad I found it while searching how I could find a backlit keyboard.
