I don't know a lot of computer lingo or tech lingo so this is just my simple "viewpoint of a typical girl" review of the Studio 17 and Vista.

I ordered Plum Purple and the color is really like the skin on a plum (purple with a tinge of redness). The laptop is really cute. It is very comfortable to type on. I love how the touchpad was easy to disable. I perfer an external mouse. The backlit keyboard rocks and I was typing in the dark just cause I could :). I love the dock at the top of the screen, I hate my desktop being cluttered with icons (I can see more of my pretty desktop picture with less icons). I had a little trouble with iTunes. It kept bringing up an error message about Apple Mobile something or other wasn't working right. The same error message kept popping up like every few minutes. If anyone gets that message I can tell you how to fix it. I really like the volume control...how you can make your music louder, but keep the window sound bites lower (instead of raising the volume in general which makes all the sounds louder).

I am just very impressed with this machine. I do have an external hard drive attached with all my itunes music. Don't want that cluttering up the hard drive...that was the problem on my old laptop.

If anyone has any non technical questions about the Studio 17, I'd be happy to answer.

The sound is good for me. I bought speakers though...can't wait to get them...they took longer to ship than my computer!
