Just got my 9300 this afternoon and was trying to setup a wireless router and for some reason the ethernet adapter in the 9300 is not connecting with anything. It's as if it's dead.

Is this a common problem that can be fixed via a setting, or is my new laptop just a POS from the factory with a non-working adapter?

Any ideas for a non-computer techie such as myself?

Update the driver. Try the one from Intel, sometimes it works better. I would also look to see if there is a firmware upgrade for your router. If you have a firewall installed, try shutting it down to see if that is causing problems. Make sure your router is not by your cordless phone or computer. Good Luck.

are you on battery? quickset and your NIC both have software settings that turn off your NIC when on battery to conserve power.

if not; have you checked the BIOS and/or Device Manager to see if the computers recognizes the card?

Thanks for the help guys. Got it fixed before I saw your posts.

Yeah it was because it was set up to turn off the adapter when on DC. This is my first laptop so I'm a little naive as to common laptop settings such as this.
