Hi there, I know LCD's aren't directly comparable to CRT's, but as far as refresh rate and ms response time, can anyone give me the spec difference between the WXGA and the WUXGA? I googled for half an hour and couldn't find a THING! I would prefer to use the WXGA, because I plan on taking my lappy in the sunlight occasionally, and I don't care much for having a huge resolution, but I'm worried about response time and refresh rate. I play games, first person shooters, and world of warcraft. I will be using either screen with the 256mb 6800, that goes without saying, but I'm a little anxious about the screen. Money is an issue [xx(][ :(][V]

Hey fellow WoW player... You won't have any problems with it!

I've played Doom3, HL2, and WoW on my Dell 9300 WUXGA screen, no ghosting or lags. For WoW i'm running at 1600x1024, for everything else I've tested as high as 1600x1200 w/ some gpu o/cing.

I'm mostly a rpg/rts player, so the fps thing is just to test my graphics card. First hand experience says you won't have ANY trouble with the response-time of the LCD!

    good luck,

    yass

Thanks guys, the ms is really what I was wondering about... I tried counterstrike and even at 25ms it seems ok! No noticable ghosting, although it could be a tiny bit better I suppose. I already have the 9300 (got it yesterday) with the regular wxga screen. I ordered a geforce 6800 and they are mailing it to me soon. I think the WXGA is ok even for gaming, but pretty much the darker the area you are in, the better from what I can tell. Movies look GREAT on the widescreen, and I'm sure they'd look even better on the UXGA. Thanks for the responses!

heartofgold: I did google for my question, but couldn't find the ms rate =/
Google is my homepage, I DO understand its' usefulness ;)
