    Hi,
    Not a biggie but I'm curious. Icons from inspiron 9300 shipped are very large. I have display set at the maximum (32 bit) 1400x900,X300 video card, std xga screen.

    I installed winxp pro (sep partition) , icons are standard size, which I always see.

    I don't see how the Dell icons from the installed xp home are 2x the size? Any ideas?

    Has nothing to do with Home, it's in all editions of XP, W2K, etc.

    Right click on desktop>Properties>Appearance tab>Effects>Use Large Icons

    standin' on the shoulders of others makes all of us taller...

    Bingo you are correct... Thank you.. I wonder why they turn on large icons, its ugly, and the default is off. Oh well, learned something new ...
