    Hi!

I really like dell 9300, and i needed a new notebook, well, i will need it for college. My question is if i should wait to dell's 9300 successor.... do you think it will be released next year? Something like 9500 but with a 7800 or something? is there any common season laptops are released?

    Thanks!

you should buy what you need when you need it. if you can wait, there will always be something better around the corner. however, if you keep waiting, you will never actually get anything.

Dont count on anything new soon. They just came out with the XPS line not to long ago and the 710M. You best bet is to get a 9300 now.

Agreed - if you need a notebook, then get it. The Go6800 is still at the very high end of graphics cards right now, and the Pentium M will carry you for many years.

I'm gonna look into my crystal ball and predict that even if Dell refreshes it's model line they will look pretty much exactly the same except you'll have an express card slot vs. the pcmcia slot you got now plus all the components will be in line with current specs of the future(which means faster and better than they are now)

Is it worth the wait for the express card slot? Probably not if you need the laptop right now. If you really don't need the laptop now . . . as in you'll want to have one for Fall of next year when school season starts up I'd wait. What all the above posters say is true, if you need it now, get it now. But if you need one for when college starts and you want to keep it for all four years, then I'd buy it a year from now when you will need it. Cause like all the above posters say technology marches on. You'll get more for your money in the future.

This is assuming of course that you have a current machine(you must right? you're posting to this forum on something) In which case wait if you can live with what you have now for a little while longer.
