Is the Inspiron name on the back of the LCD on the inspiron 9300 supposed to look used. I am guessing that it is.

Does it come with a protective film coating like my xps2 did that you need to peel off?

my I9300 came a little banged up on top. Just a few nicks and after just booting up the computer, i got a dead pixel!!! Damn pixel. Not sure what i want to do right now, sometimes they come back on but, i don't want to have to send the system back. I just got it all setup the way i want it and don't want to mess with it again.

I meant I wanted to know if I had rubbed off the Inspiron name not that it was used.

you know whats funny, i thought it was a dead pixel. I as mad and did a dead pixel test, sure enough there it was. So i tapped on the part of the screen where the pixel was and it came on! It flickered off again after about 5 minutes, so i tapped it again, after that it has worked fine!

now that you mention it, my "s" looks to be dying a slow death. Almost looks like somebody has rubbed part of it off.

    Righ

I tried in vane sp? to keep my daughter away from it, but the other night i found her doing leaps over it!

Anyway, the letters have a few scratches or rubbing off so they are not really stuck on very good. I imagine they will rub almost completely off at some point.

But if you don't want any scratches on your new machine then you have to not use it.

Otherwise the machine seems good quality and looks brand new still after a month.
