I guess the bluetooth came free with my I9300 system and now I'm trying to figure out what it could be used for. First, I REALLY wondered what a "Bluetooth Camera" or "Remote Camera" was. I guess now you can upload your your email from your PDA or Cell phone to your PC using Bluetooth.

I could use "Bluetooth Earphones", seen in Cell Phone stores which may/may not work for the PC. These would make me much more likely to use internet phone services. I don't want wired headsets, but, hmm, how far might the headphones go? 17 ft?!

So I get to the Toshiba website googling for "bluethooth earphones" ...

    http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/adet.to?poid=290948&seg=HHO&rcid=-26364&ccid=1291043 ...

and at the bottom of the page is a link to an upgrade from my version 3.03.02 to Bluetooth Stack v 3.20.00 or higher. It appears to be legit for all XP systems.

Has anyone done this upgrade? I run the setup utility and it only offers to remove my Bluetooth software, which I don't see posted on the Dell support database.

Do I need this update? If I spend $50 at CC might they work no matter whether I upgrade or not?

Yup. A notice was in my email this morning. The setup program ran very well. When I reboot in a few days (I have a just expired firewall I gotta keep using) I'll be happy, I'm sure.

Well I had problems getting it to work with the security set to anything but minimal. With my ipaq that is. Worked roght off with the mouse. Also seems like sometimes you need to scan for devices more than once. If it fails try again and see if it then succeeds.
