Is the memory for the 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300 card totally dedicated? I believe it is because Dell does not state otherwise but it does state for the 64 MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300 with HyperMemory version that it is not totally dedicated. ( Dell's says in a footnote that: ATI's MOBILITY RADEONĀ® X300 HyperMemory includes 32MB discrete memory on the graphics card and up to 64MB of system memory allocated to the graphics card, depending upon system memory size and other factors.) So, does anybody know for sure that the memory for the 128MB version of the ATI card is not shared?

the 128 is dedicated. the 64 is 32 on board and 32 shared (assuming you're in the US).

drumfu is correct, I'm just going to put in my two cents.
HyperMemory is a load of crap. Its only real purpose is to make the video card seem like it is better, when it really doesn't have that much memory, and so they can cut costs.
I had a 64MB X700 in my last laptop, and the X700 can take advantage of a lot more than 64MB of memory. With HyperMemory enabled with the latest set of drivers, my 3DMark05 and 03 scores stayed exactly the same. Same goes for the games - no increase in framerate.
The only real thing HM does is make the game play a little smoother if you are running out of VRAM - normally, the hard drive would be used to cache textures in and out of the video memory, but with HyperMemory, the main system RAM is used. RAM is 1000 times faster than the hard drive, so obviously it is much quicker.
