Dell says the release date for the 9200 is 11/8/2004. What does this mean? Does it mean the very first people that ordered it will start getting theirs?

My 9200 is supposed to be sent out on Dec 3rd, but I placed the order on November 3rd and it hasn't even gotten passed the Pre-production stage in the order status page yet. I wrote them an email, but I have not gotten a response yet as to why there is such a hold up.

I don't think it's a hold up, technically... it's just that they announced the computer and put it up for sale before they actually had them ready to ship out to customers.

Well the dell guy told me that it takes 7 days to build and 3-5 days to ship and the ship date is the worst scenario to be shipped on. So me no know if hes lying to try to get customers hopes up to trust them???? hope its good though!!!

Dell's e-mails are not currenty being answered. They are updating their system.

I've sent about 4 e-mails in the last week and have not received a response.

I had contacted tech two weeks ago about my bad lcd (idiots) and I ended up calling customer service. They said they would send out a replacement LCD. A week later I called them after not having my e-mails replied to and they cannot find my information. This time they said that they are sending me a brand new replacement unit... a 9200 because the 9100 is no longer in production. I wonder if they will lose this file or if they will actually get a 9200 to me.

Things are in turmoil at Dell right now it seems.

Hah! Still, exchanging the 9100 for a 9200 is pretty sweet you have to admit.
