Was configuring a 9200 with the following specs:

    Inspiron 9200 Intel® Pentium® M 755 Processor (2GHz/400MHz FSB)
17" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display
    1GB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz 2 Dimm
    Video Card 128MB ATI's™ Mobility Radeon™ 9700
Hard Drive 60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive
    8X DVD+/-RW Drive

    Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)
Primary Battery 53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    Carbon Fiber QuickSnap™ Cover
    Dell™ TrueMobile™ 300 Bluetooth Internal Card
Dell Media Experience™ with Remote Control

Save $49 on shipping with mail-in rebate. Price shown before rebate
    TOTAL: $2,088.00 (with 25% off)

I was aiming for 2000 dollars so the price is pretty good, the main thing I'm wondering about is the Pentium M processor which I have never seen or used... any experiences? Other then that, are there any other things I could change to get better performance without much of a jolt pricewise? Or maybe even something unnecesary. I would primarily use this computer for gaming as well as watching DVDs on long flights or drives. (and maybe even some work ^^)

    woohoo

Is there actually anything else you could change? LOL!

It looks like you got the maximum amount of options and upgrades.

I don't think going past 1 GB RAM will give you any additional boost and you already have the 7200 hard drive and the highest processor available on the computer.

As far as the Pentium M goes, currently I have an Inspiron 8200 (waiting for my 9200 to ship) with the outdated graphics card, a feeble 384 MB and a 1.7 Ghz Pentium M processor and I was still able to run Doom 3 (albeit at the lowest setting). Granted, gaming technology is changing on a daily basis, but I think the set up you have should be solid for a while.

I'm no expert on graphics card, but I think the next logical step for you would be to upgrade by getting a better card on your own (the new GeForce) or one of those 256 MB cards, etc. and installing it yourself.

Other than that, I don't think there is anything you could do through Dell -- to improve the performance.

Awesome. I'm still debating between leather charcoal and carbon fiber quicksnap though [ :D] I just wish dell had a carbon fiber picture.

And this is a HUUUGE upgrade to my old Dell Inspiron 8000 1 ghz pIII, 512 mb ram, geforce2go 32 mb, 20gb hdd [xx(]. Can't wait.

    woohoo

Did you get a Snap On? I wouldn't mind seeing the Carbon Fiber either. I do like the look of the system with no snap but if the Carbon Fiber is nice enough I may consider it.

Also, when you get it could you tell me if the case is sturdy? It looked really nice. It had a neat metal look to it. Is the lid metal by chance?

Thanks and congrats on you purchase!
