I live in australia, and i was planning on coming to the US to visit my parents for christmas. While in the states i wanted to purchase the 9200 and bring it back with me. After surfing some of these boards, i get the impression that i should opt for another product like the 8600, because its been around for a while. I get the impression that since the 9200 is a new product, there will still be some production kinks that need to still be worked out. My main issue is that i do not want to deal with DELL support in the limited time (3 weeks) that i have, on any potential issues.

Any comments on my assumptions will be much appreciated? Anything else that i should be aware of??

(The 9200 will not be out in Australia for at least a few months)

I would suggest waiting. For example, I bought the Dell Inspiron 5150 right when it first came out, and over the next 3 months, they had already built a new revision of it. I had a lot of problems with my original one, and later versions had some changes to it that helped with heat flow, etc.

I always feel that Dell rushes out new products without working out many of the kinks.

I highly recommend waiting a few months before purchasing the 9200. But that is only my opinion.
