Sorry to start a whole new thread on this topic, but I thought the new subject title may attract more 9200 users. Anyway, thank you Yorkie and Administrator for your help and feedback. I think my hubby may have come up with a solution to the UXGA screen problems. He suggested that we buy a flat monitor to attach to the laptop, and use that instead of this laptop screen. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse anyway, so I could feasibly put the laptop off to the side while viewing the regular monitor. Would this work? I really am trying to avoid the hassles of returning this laptop. I still have around twenty days before I don't have that option any longer, but if I could make this work with the addition of a monitor, this may solve the problems I have personally with the UXGA. Thanks, everyone for your help. I'm glad I found this forum

Yes, but would our idea technically work for the viewing problems I'm having, or will it just view the same on a separate monitor? Curious, because I really don't mind that option. We have a couple of laptops. This one will stay in my office most of the time anyway, so the portability issue is not a problem.

azusaheat, buying a separate monitor would 1) cost more money, and 2) defeat the purpose of having a laptop (the portability).

If I were you I would simply contact Dell, explain your situation, and request that you be shipped the XGA+ version instead.
