YAY mine just shipped out of the manufacturing plant on its way to the US. I should have by the end of next week!
I will also put up some pics and a short review. Although my review will be a bit different as I'm wiping it clean when it gets here and putting XP Pro on it. -
After reading the reviews on all the notebooks, I still prefer desktop for musci download and heavy game playing.

what's all this fancy about reformatting newly purchased Dell?

Its about getting rid of all the USELESS crap Dell puts on your machine that slows it down.
Finally got my 9100 and played with it for a week. Pictures and reviews coming soon. -
OK here it is some what! I got my 9100 about a week ago on Monday. So far this thing is HUGE. I have an iBook and when I put them side by side it makes you want to laugh at how big this thing really is. Despite the size of this baby this thing ROCKS! I just got back from hooking it up at a LAN party and let me tell you this thing was the best computer in the room and it was the only laptop, The others were custom built. The screen is where I will start, The UXGA is going to make you cry it is soo clean and clear. This thing is Bright and it is better then the monitors saw at that LAN. Someone asked me once is the LCD can handle the 3D games without jerking because of it's refresh rate? Well so far mine has handled it and keeps asking for more! The games played at this LAN were UT 2k3, UT 2k4, Tactical Opps, Need For Speed Underground, and Battlefield Vietnam. The 9100 took everything with no problem. The keyboard is really comfortable. Some complain about how high it is, but I am used to having my hands up high because I type with a pad under my palms so this thing is second nature to me but my hands don't feel cluttered at all. Speed wise this thing purrs. I have the P4 3.0 HT and so far so good. I am waiting for my case to come in and according to the specs of this case it should fit my laptop perfectly, so for those of you looking for a bag for the 9100 look at the BP.3 System from Booq Bags! I will let you know if it fits around May. The speakers are much nicer then the iBooks speakers but are a far cry from after market speakers but for me in the dorms I will be sticking to headphones. So far on a scale of 1-10 I give this thing a 15 because it is perfect.
PRO's: Speed, Screen, Graphics, etc.
CON's: Size and Weight (it's only 9 lbs, common)
I will give a more in depth review after I get done throwing some bench marks at this baby but so far so good! Oh yea speculations on the desktop replacements freezing after 30 mins of hard core 3D gaming, I played from 10 pm to 6 am with no freezing and no overheating my fans were pumping consistent warm air nothing too hot and the computer never showed any let down at all

I must say, everyone here has been a big help to me as well. Everyones reviews, input, and general opinions have been extremely useful in deciding which notebook to get. I've just ordered my 9100 not two hours ago, and I'm very excited. Extra kudos to Abaxter for the $200 off coupon; that helped me a lot!
Here are my (soon-to-be) specs:
Pentium4 3.2GHz,15.4-in. WSXGA+
256MB DDR 400MHz 2 DIMMs
128MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
60GB Ultra ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive for Inspiron 9100
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
4X CD/DVD burner (DVD+RW/+R) with Software for the 4xCD/DVDBURNER
Dell Wireless 1450 DualBand (802.11a/b/g) Internal Wireless
1 Year Limited Warranty
As you can see, I've ordered the 256MB module, and (due to opinions I've heard here) I've bought a 512MB stick from MemorySuppliers.com. Thanks again, guys (and gals?) I look forward to more reviews and pictures!
