I recently received my Inspiron 9100 and so far so good.

The only problem I have to date is that when I go to a dropdown menu, it's transparent so not only do I see the items of the drop down, but I also see what's behind it (i.e. when I'm at Dell's Home and Home Office page and go under the "notebook" heading, the menu will drop down and I can see both the name of the notebooks and the background picture). Everything is mixed in and it's really annoying.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Here's my tec specs:

    Inspiron 9100
    3.2Ghz P4 processor
    15.4in WSXGA+ display
    128MB ATI Radeon 9700
256MB of RAM (will upgrade to 1G)

    Thanks,
    john

    Thanks for the info Sequoia,

I also have a mac and when I placed both laptops next to each other, with each laptop open up to Dell's homepage, I only get the transparent dropdown menu with the Dell. I called customer service and now they're going to send me a new laptop. I'll tell you if the new one has the same problem.

Just received my replacement. There's no transparent dropdown/popup menu and no artifacts on the monitor. However, the replacement also has a monitor problem. It flicks every 15 seconds. Dell is now sending me a replacement for the replacement. If this laptop (the 3rd one) has another problem, that's it for me and Dell.

Welcome to the quality issues of Dell. Hopefully the third time's a charm.
