So what is the difference? They all plug into our current laptops (last 3+ years)....anyone know the difference between the two?

25 watts. The more watts, the faster the battery charges.
-
Use the 90W, it should charge things faster. 65W for portability.
-
So my question is, i have a new 1330 that came with a 65w, and have a latitude 410 with a 90w. It should not hurt my 1330 to plug my 90w into it?
-
Not really, electrinics in battery controlls the speed of charging. Stronger adapter is just going to be cooler than weeker. Power of the adapter only has to be above certain value (depends of the battery and laptop consumption). If the manufacturer delivers 65W with laptop, it is enough.
@vanndamage
No if those have the same voltage, and of course the same plug. But it is always better to use adapter that came with laptop. -
Thats what I thought....just wanted a second opinion. Thanks for the input.

What is healthier for a lith ion battery?
leaving the ac cord in while in use, or taking it off? -
Avoid cycling the battery whenever possible. Just plug it in, it'll stop charging when the battery's fully charged.

The main difference between the 65W and the 90W charger is that the more powerful one is needed for all notebooks with dedicated video card. For the ones with integrated the 65W is enough.

by plugging it in, it would keep the battery charged at 100%. that is bad isn't it?

So... Can I use a 65W adapter with m1530?
-
You can use any of the wattages. Do note though, if you have a lot of horse power in that machine. Lower wattage will bottleneck the machine and it won't be able to run as fast!
More so true if you have dedicated graphics.
Just get the 90 it won't hurt.
And the batteries deteriorate if you use them or you don't. Keeping them fully charged all the time keeps them healthy though. Running them dead and leaving them dead for days shortens the life cycle.
90w vs. 65w
