    Hey, all -

I'm trying to decide between the 9 cell and the 6 cell battery for the XPS 1330 I am ordering from Dell. The computer will have the 7100 processor, discrete graphics, and the LED screen.

I'm not concerned about mobile gaming power. My highest mobility priorities are word processing time while traveling, as well as being able to watch a movie while traveling.

I understand the aesthetics/ventilation/keyboard position tradeoffs, as my previous laptop (Sager NP3790) also had a battery which stuck out the back, and I didn't mind it that much, though there were times I wished the computer was lighter/more portable.

I'd prefer answers from people who actually HAVE their XPS 1330s or who have worked with one/seen one 'in person'...otherwise, I've seen the same images the rest of you have!

    Regards,

    GRPCV

If u want more battery life and don't mind a little larger weight, 9cell, otherwise - 6 cell :)

Get both if you can! But if you're gaming, I'd imagine you'd be by an outlet. The 9-cell not only protrudes from the back but it elevates it more than it already is. I'm kind of concerned about portability for the XPS with a 9-cell, not because of it's weight, but for its shape. It just seems like the battery will snap off because of the way it attaches--which is off-centered with another portion on the side seems like it's more proned to damage. Maybe it's just me being OCD about it, but i like things flush to the surface. Now if the 9cell snapped on completely in the middle of the XPS m1330, I wouldn't be here trying to dissuade you.

I'll include 2 pics in this post which i've put somewhere else. Look at the right side of the pic. Thats what I mean by off-centered.
